ProMusica Chamber Orchestra to focus on 21st-century music for 2019-20 season
“In planning their 41st season, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra leaders faced a quandary: How to top their 40th season?
“We had the big 40th anniversary, and so that’s finished,” said Music Director David Danzmayr. “For the first time in many, many, many years, we started from scratch.”
In the end, Danzmayr and Executive Director Janet Chen — recognizing that the second decade of the new century would soon be drawing to a close — settled on a forward-looking theme for the season.
“To celebrate 20 years of the 21st century, every program should include a piece of 21st-century music,” Danzmayr said.”
