“In October, the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra will return to the Southern Theatre for the first time since the start of the pandemic, but Music Director David Danzmayr isn’t sure what kind of audience will be joining the musicians.
“I just don’t want to assume things,” Danzmayr said. “The vaccine rates are a little bit lower than, optimistically, I would have hoped at this point.”
Will vaccine rates improve, leading to audiences feeling comfortable enough to congregate in large numbers; or will the situation remain murky, with some ticket-buyers returning but others staying home?
“At this point, I think it’s anybody’s guess,” Danzmayr said. “I will be as proud and as happy to perform in front of half an audience and I will give everything (as) if the house was full.””
