ProMusica opens the 2021-22 season with a celebratory in-person return to the Southern Theatre! Composer/performer double bassist Xavier Foley performs Bottesini’s Bass Concerto No. 2 and is also featured with Korean-born violinist Eunice Kim on his own work, For Justice and Peace – a moving work that illustrates how the issues of social justice remain critical to our society today. The evening opens with Suite for Lower Strings, a reimagination of beloved Bach melodies by Brazilian-American composer Clarice Assad and concludes with Beethoven’s wildly energetic and fantastic Seventh Symphony.

BACH/arr. Assad – Suite for Lower Strings
FOLEY – For Justice and Peace
BOTTESINI – Bass Concerto No. 2
BEETHOVEN – Symphony No. 7

The safety and health of our guests, musicians, and staff is our top priority. As of September 1, 2021, CAPA requires all patrons, staff, and volunteers to wear masks at all times while inside the Southern Theatre, regardless of vaccination status until further notice. READ MORE >
