ProMusica’s Neighborhood Series Returns in 2024

The series will be presented in German Village and Worthington

(Columbus, OH) – Returning for its second year, ProMusica will bring back its Neighborhood Series on Feb. 24 and 25. The intimate concerts will take place in churches in German Village and Worthington, with the goal of expanding the ProMusica footprint outside of its downtown Southern Theatre setting, taking the orchestra out of the traditional concert hall and into surrounding communities.

Neighborhood Series: Bach & Friends will take place on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Worthington United Methodist Church (600 High St. in Worthington), and on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 4:00 p.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church (700 S Third St. in German Village), in partnership with the Music at St. Mary Concert Series. Each concert will be about 65 minutes long with no intermission.

The program will feature Bach’s Double Concerto for Oboe and Violin, Silvestrov’s Silent Music, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, and Mendelssohn’s Sinfonia No. 10. Led by ProMusica’s Creative Partner & Principal Guest Artist Vadim Gluzman, several of ProMusica’s own principal musicians will also be featured soloists, including oboist Donna Conaty, flutist Nadine Hur, and harpsichordist Aya Hamada.

“The Neighborhood Series allows ProMusica to engage with audiences in different pockets of our Columbus community, presenting our music in different venues,” said Janet Chen, CEO of ProMusica. “This is a great opportunity to experience and hear our world renowned musicians right in your backyard.”
