ProMusica extends contract for David Danzmayr, music director, through 2025-26 season

“Conductor David Danzmayr has led the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra for close to a decade, but to those within the organization, he still has the energy and excitement of a newbie.
“Sometimes I have to stop myself because I keep calling him our ‘new music director,’ but he’s really not new,” ProMusica CEO Janet Chen said of Danzmayr, who, in 2013, was named the successor to music director Timothy Russell, who helped found the orchestra in 1978.
“I think it just speaks to that he keeps things fresh, he keeps things feeling like it’s new and innovative,” Chen said.
