“Paul Rissmann was AMAZING. This was my first event of his, and I can’t praise it enough! The way he seamlessly wove together history, music, technique, and aesthetics was incredible—not to mention the humor! He spoke in a way that both novices and experts could appreciate. Add in the amazing graphics, and wow. Bravo!”

Join us as we strip down an iconic chamber piece and uncover its deepest meaning. Together with host Paul Rissmann, we’ll deconstruct Schubert’s Death and the Maiden, a deeply dramatic and moving work that was written when the composer himself was in the shadows of death. Then, you’ll be treated to a full orchestral performance of the piece.
