Mozart & Gulda

Mark Kosower, cello
David Danzmayr, conductor

An evening rich with classical and contemporary influences—Mark Kosower, principal cellist of The Cleveland Orchestra, performs Friedrich Gulda’s genre-defying Concerto for Cello and Wind Orchestra, fusing classical tradition with jazz and rock flair. William Grant Still’s imaginative The East opens the program, and Mozart’s youthful Symphony No. 22 is paired with one of his most famous works, the lively and lyrical Symphony No. 35 “Haffner.”
