Columbus native and acclaimed jazz pianist Aaron Diehl makes his debut with ProMusica for our 71st commission and premiere: Rhapsody, a new work by composer Michael Schachter commemorating the centennial of Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue. William Grant Still’s Darker America opens the program, and Brahms’ deeply romantic Third Symphony brings our dynamic 46th season to close.

STILL — Darker America
SCHACHTER — Rhapsody [Commission and Midwest Premiere]*
BRAHMS — Symphony No. 3
BRAHMS — Hungarian Dance No. 1

*Lead commissioning by ProtoStar Group and Carnegie Hall, co-commissioned by ProMusica Chamber Orchestra.

Support for Michael Schachter’s commission is made possible by Dr. Richard and Yvonne Heather Burry, and an anonymous donor.
