ProMusica’s Summer Music Series returns to Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens! Spend a starlit evening on the grounds of Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, part of our 3-concert festival of outdoor performances. Pack a picnic and enjoy live music performed against the backdrop of the illuminated John F. Wolfe Palm House. Bring the whole family and join us one hour before each concert for music and garden inspired children’s activities. Performances are FREE and all ages are welcome!

Chelsea Hart Melcher has been seen performing all throughout the Ohio and greater Columbus area. She was recently featured as a soloist in the Opera Columbus collaboration production of “Twisted 2”. Her recent roles include Nedda (I Pagliacci), Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Female Chorus (The Rape of Lucretia), Musetta (La Bohème),Micaëla (Carmen), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Mimi (La Bohème), and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte). She was a semi-finalist in the 2014 and 2016 Cooper- Bing Vocal Competition. She was a national finalist in this year’s “Opera Idol” Competition and has been awarded many awards and scholarships throughout her career. She has sung with Opera Columbus, Opera Seabrook, Opera Project Columbus, Bay View Music Festival, Ohio Light Opera, Columbus Symphony, Midland Symphony, Amherst Symphony, Central Michigan Orchestra, Columbus Metropolitan Orchestra and Ohio State University Orchestra. Hart Melcher graduated with a Performance Diploma from Jacobs School of Music under the study of Heidi Grant Murphy, Kevin Murphy, and Timothy Noble. She collaborates with her husband Paul Melcher in a budding concert series around the country for private parties, events, churches, and organizations. They also are co-founders of RED Music School, located in Marysville OH.
Heralded for his masculine and charismatic interpretations of leading men, Mexican bass-baritone Carlos Monzón has been charming audiences throughout the United States. He most recently performed Zuñiga in Carmen with Opera Columbus, Simone in Gianni Schicchi and Talpa in Il Tabarro, both with Opera Project Columbus. Monzón was praised for his performances of Escamillo in Carmen with Sarasota Opera and as Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro with Kentucky Opera. For Florida Grand Opera he portrayed Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Il Bonzo in Madama Butterfly and Antonio in Le nozze di Figaro. He has participated in many prestigious apprentice programs throughout the country, including Wolf Trap Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Merola Opera Program singing Leporello in Don Giovanni, directed by Catherine Malfitano to great acclaim. Mr. Monzón has sung regionally with such companies as Spokane Opera, Opera Idaho, Pensacola Opera and Coeur d’Alene Opera. Mr. Monzón recently relocated to the Columbus area from New York City with his beloved family.
