David Danzmayr, conductor
Martha Guth, soprano
ProMusica performs Klaus Simon’s arrangement of Mahler’s beloved 4th Symphony. Featuring soprano Martha Guth and 14 musicians, this chamber orchestra version endeavors to offer an intimate experience of this emotional work, while preserving the integrity of Mahler’s signature orchestral sound. The Fourth Symphony holds a unique place among his symphonies. This is a journey of simplistic to complex melodies; dramatic and sardonic storytelling; and concluding with the tender expression of peace, beauty and serenity into Heavenly Life.
