SummerFEST: The Art of Tango

*CANCELED*
Katherine McLin, violin
David Danzmayr, conductor

7:30 PM Update: Unfortunately this concert has been cancelled due to the inclement weather.

The evening comes alive with the sounds, rhythms and influences of Astor Piazzolla as we celebrate his centenary year. Concertmaster Katherine McLin is featured on his beloved and virtuosic work “Four Seasons” and the concert closes with his fiery Adios Nonino and Fuga Y Misterio. Works by Bach and Argentine composer Golijov round out the program – Bach who inspired Piazzolla; and Golijov who was inspired by this treasured tango master.

BACH/arr. Assad – Suite for Lower Strings
PIAZZOLLA – Four Seasons of Buenos Aires
GOLIJOV – Last Round
PIAZZOLLA – Adios Nonino and Fuga y Misterio

Gates will open at 6:00 PM. Program duration is approximately 1 hour with no intermission.
